Never heard of an aerator either. The Gascolator was poorly designed strainer/seperator that isn't low enough in the fuel system to help with much. I think this was only on the 170-182s but I could be wrong about that. Especially on tail-draggers this little device would suddenly break-loose deprise and water droplets when you lifted the tail up to take off (talk about bad timing!)...
